There is a glow in the dark laser tag arena on some of the biggest ships afloat. You put on a vest. You chase your own kids through a fake space station. Nobody expects it on a boat.
Royal Caribbean runs a version called Battle for Planet Z. It is set up to look like an abandoned space station, all concrete and dark corners. On a few ships the arena shares space with the ice rink, so it is only open at certain times of day.
Norwegian brought laser tag to sea first, back on Norwegian Joy. You will find it on Bliss, Joy, and a handful of the Breakaway class ships. Norwegian charges extra for it, either a single session or an unlimited pass, so it is not quite the free for all the kids would prefer.
Here is the part people miss. The arenas move around. One ship adds it. Another ship pulls it out in a dry dock to make room for something else. Norwegian removed the course on Encore in late 2024. So the laser tag you read about from two years ago may not be on the ship you are about to board.
That matters more than it sounds. Families book a sailing because a teenager saw a photo of the arena online. Then they get on board and the space is a shuffleboard court now. Nobody wants that conversation on day one.
The fix is simple. Before you book, somebody should confirm the activity is actually on your exact ship for your exact sailing. Marketing photos are not a promise. A current deck plan is closer to the truth.
Laser tag is not the reason to pick a cruise. It is a very good reason a bored fourteen year old stops asking for the wifi password. For an hour, anyway.
