Regent Seven Seas Is About to Get a Brand New Flagship

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has a new ship coming, and it is the first of a new class. It is called Seven Seas Prestige, and it debuts in 2026. It carries about 850 guests, which by cruise math today is tiny.

This is the seventh ship in the fleet. A sister ship is already planned for delivery in 2029. So this is not a one-off. It is the start of something Regent intends to keep building.

Here is what you need to know about Regent if the name is new to you. It sells itself as the most inclusive luxury cruise line, and the fare reflects that. Your cruise fare covers your suite, your dining, your drinks, your gratuities, your shore excursions, and usually your flights. You pay a large number once and then you mostly stop reaching for your wallet.

That model is either the best thing you have ever heard or a hard sell, depending on how you travel. If you like all-in pricing and never want to think about a bar tab, Regent is built for you. If you would rather pay a lower base fare and skip the excursions and the wine, you will feel like you are paying for things you would not have bought. Neither of you is wrong.

The small ship size matters more than people expect. An 850-guest ship reaches ports the big ships cannot, and you never wait in a line of four thousand people to get off. The trade is fewer restaurants, fewer shows, and no water slides. If you want a floating theme park, this is not that. If you want a quiet ship that feels more like a private club, this is exactly that.

Who is it best for. Couples and seasoned cruisers who have done the big lines and want space, quiet, and a bill that does not surprise them at the end. Who should skip it. Families with young kids, and anyone whose main goal is the lowest possible price. You can find a cheaper cruise. You cannot always find a calmer one.

A new flagship is worth watching because the good suites and the best sailings go early. If you want help deciding whether Regent is your speed or just an expensive haircut, that is literally what we do.

Fair winds and following seas,
Captain Steve
